New Orleans Saints vs Seattle Seahawks series history

Posted Dec 1, 2013

A look at the series history between the Saints and the Seahawks

The Saints and Seahawks have met 11 times in the regular season with the New Orleans leading the series 6-5. The Seahawks are one of eight teams that New Orleans has a winning record against all-time. In regular season games played in Seattle, the series is tied 3-3 with New Orleans having a 1-2 record in regular season games played at CenturyLink Field. Since Sean Payton became head coach in 2006, the Saints have won both regular season meetings between the two clubs, while the Seahawks captured the NFC Wild Card Playoff matchup 41-36 on January 8, 2011.

The Saints’ last road win in the series came in a 28-17 prime time win on October 14, 2007 at Qwest Field which saw the Saints snap a 0-4 start, as New Orleans scored all of their points in the first half. Since then they defeated the Seahawks at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome 34-19 on November 21, 2010. On November 21, 1976 against Seattle at the Kingdome, the Saints equaled a club scoring record in a 51-27 win over the then-expansion Seahawks, who resided in the same division as the Saints, the NFC West, for their inaugural season. New Orleans has scored 50 or more points only three other times in franchise history. A look back at the results from the all-time series between the two clubs.
