New Orleans Saints players visit pediatric and cancer infusion patients at Ochsner

The New Orleans Saints spent time at Ochsner Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 29 visiting pediatric and cancer infusion patients.

Saints players Thomas Morstead, Lance Moore, Bryce Harris, Cameron Jordan, Terron Armstead and Senio Kelemete spent time with patients, signing autographs and taking pictures, as well as talking with their families.

Two-year-old Blake enjoyed spending time with the players and even offered up some of his breakfast – fruit loops – as they played.

“Making our fans smile…that’s what it’s all about," Moore said. "Any time we get a chance to visits like this, as hard as it may be to see kids and adults going through struggles with their health, it means everything to put smiles on their faces.”

The players spent time with Sandra Bartholomew, a patient receiving treatment at the infusion center.

"I’ve been a diehard Saints fan since fans wore bags on their heads – and even before that,” she said. “It was a blessing (to have the Saints here). If there was one thing in this world I wanted to do, I just did it.  They made my day, they made my week, no, they made my month!”
“We were in the pediatric ward and visited some chemo patients and they’re some of our biggest fans,” Morstead said. “It’s cool to come spend time with them and lift their spirits.”
