Players delivered more than 1,000 turkeys to families in need Tuesday

New Orleans Saints players delivered Thanksgiving cheer to local families in need at Dryades YMCA on Tuesday.

Saints players were greeted with fans lining the barricades, taking pictures and chanting their names.

Each year at the start of the holiday season, Saints players gather for their annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Giveaway. This year, Saints players donated the funding for more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meals, with shopping totes donated by Copeland’s. All food items were purchased from Winn-Dixie.
Wide receiver Willie Snead spoke about events like this motivating him to work harder and put smiles on people's faces.

"This is awesome, everybody is out and everyone is having a good time," Snead said. "It's really fun to give back and give thanks to the community and show them that we care for them."

Snead was joined by teammates Thomas Morstead, Senio Kelemente, Brandon Coleman, Terron Armstead, Justin Drescher, C.J. Spiller, Hau'oli Kikaha, Tim Hightower and Cameron Jordan.

Kikaha said the event was a great experience.

“We’re so blessed all the way around, nothing to complain about," Kikaha said. “It’s the season of giving and we’re thankful to be here and giving back.”
