Eight players visited the pediatric and chemotherapy wards

Eight New Orleans Saints players visited Ochsner Hospital’s pediatric and chemotherapy wards on Tuesday, Dec. 17 to spread some holiday cheer.

Wide receivers Lance Moore, Kenny Stills and Nick Toon, defensive end Cameron Jordan, punter Thomas Morstead, tackles Bryce Harris and Terron Armstead and guard Senio Kelemete spent over two hours handing out holiday gifts and posing for photos with patients.

“It’s definitely something that wears on your heart,” Moore said. “Every time we come here and see these kids, it’s sad occasion for us but it turns into a great occasion when you can put a smile on their faces and get them  to forget about what is going on in their lives for five minutes.”

Digital camera, electronic picture frames and personal blenders were given to the patients in the chemotherapy ward. All gifts were donated by Morstead’s foundation, What You Give Will Grow.

“We’re coming here to bring them Christmas presents,” Morstead said.  “We have some of our biggest fans in here and they’re letting us know to be ready this weekend to beat Carolina. It feels good to give to people that are going through a tough time.”

Al Copeland, Jr. and his family provided a Copeland’s famous holiday meal to the patients, their families and staff members in the pediatric and chemotherapy ward
