A number of New Orleans Saints players will be playing in a charity basketball game, the Second Annual Black and Gold Hoops Challenge, at Rummel High School on May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Current and former Saints players will face local police officers, fire fighters and military members in the charity hoops contest.

WR Lance Moore, RB Perrie Thomas, DE Cameron Jordan, WR Joseph Morgan, P Thomas Morstead, S Malcolm Jenkins, S Isa Abdul-Quddus, RB Chris Ivory, WR Courtney Roby and former Saints Darren Sharper and Michael Lewis and Moore’s brother Nick (WR for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League) are expected to play in the game.

Halftime will consist of a $10,000 half-court shootout, a Saints 3-point shootout and a Harlem Shake video shoot. Fans are encouraged to wear costumes to help set a Guinness World Records for a “Wobble” Dance” (Most people doing the Wobble line dance at one time) – the record is 2,000 people.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lance Moore Community Cares Foundation, the Darren Sharper Kids Foundation and the Get Checked Or Check Out Health Foundation.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-18. V.I.P tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets are available here.
