How has the offense progressed over the first two games? What would you like to work on and accomplish?

“We’re obviously playing a little more on Friday. We just want to go out and put a couple drives together. Get some continuity going. And that’s what we’re looking for at this point in the preseason.”

Without Robert Meachem on the team, do you think you’re going to see more double coverage?

“I don’t really think that that’ll be the case with the weapons we have on this offense. You could double anyone. Obviously with Sproles coming out of the backfield and Jimmy at tight end and the receivers, it’s hard to pay too much attention to one guy. I probably will see similar coverage’s that I have for the past three years.”

Is it realistic to average 41 points at home again this year? Or was that a once in a career type of year?

“We definitely hope it’s realistic. We’re just planning on taking days like today and getting better and progressing. When that time comes, we hope it happens. “

Can you talk about your thoughts on Andy Tanner and the progress he’s made this preseason?

“Tanner is a guy that comes to work day in and day out and obviously he you see the plays that he makes. Very, very good receiver, we obviously have a lot of depth at that position. He’s coming out and he’s handling his business day in and day out and, (I) just have a lot of respect for a guy like that.”

In what ways have you seen improvement in Tanner from the beginning of camp to now?

“He just continues to work, he’s been here a couple years now, and he actually was doing a lot of the same things. He just shows up everyday.”

Would that be the same case with Courtney Roby?

“Definitely, he’s a guy that been pretty good at receiver. He’s just taking his preseason to make the most of his opportunities and that’s what it’s all about. “

From what you’ve seen from the defense, do you feel more comfortable about not having to outscore as many teams this season in order to win?

“(I) Definitely feel really good about where the defense is at right now. We played Spags (Steve Spagnuolo) last year in St. Louis and obviously we ended up on the short end. Having a guy like that, the staff he brought in, and the culture he’s brought in on defense, (I’m) definitely very excited about it.”

Nick Toon has been compared a lot to you, any thoughts on him as far as working with him as he comes into the NFL?

“I think he’s going to have a smoother transition than a rookie would. He’s definitely a guy that just gets it. Obviously coming from a NFL pedigree with his father playing, he’s a very intelligent player. A very smooth player, I just can’t wait to get him back on the field.”
