Malcolm Jenkins was voted as a team captain in 2013

Voted a defensive team captain for the second straight season, Malcolm Jenkins got off to a quick start as he forced fumble by Falcons WR Julio Jones that was recovered by Harper in the opener vs. Atlanta, Sept. 8. On Sept. 15 at Tampa Bay, Jenkins picked off QB Josh Freeman and returned it 31 yards. On Oct. 6 at Chicago, he sacked Bears QB Jay Cutler, forcing a fumble that was recovered by teammate Cameron Jordan. On Oct. 13 at New England, he set a career-high for sacks when he recorded 1.5 takedowns of Patriots QB Tom Brady.

Jenkins has filled up the stat sheet, posting 69 tackles (46 solo), a career-high 2.5 sacks, two interceptions to tie a career-best first set in 2010, six passes defensed and a career-high two forced fumbles to tie for first on the team, while adding a special teams stop. Jenkins has appeared in six career postseason games for New Orleans with four starts and has posted 24 tackles (16 solo), one sack, two passes defensed and one special teams stop.

Best Game: Had four tackles, a sack for a three yard loss and a forced fumble in the New Orleans Saints’ 26-18 win at the Chicago Bears in Week 5.
