The Louisiana Superdome’s post-Katrina home opener was far more than a game. It was an emotion-filled return to normalcy in a city once battered but never broken.
Steve Gleason’s blocked punt has become a symbol of New Orleans’ determination to succeed against all odds. Steve continues to embody the spirit of determination in his personal fight against ALS.
This special lithograph (pictured above), created by artist Michael Hunt will raise funds for the Gleason Initiative Foundation in their ongoing efforts in the fight against ALS.
“Everyone at the Monday night game against Atlanta was fully committed to returning to the city of New Orleans. I think the blocked punt symbolized an emotional homecoming for the entire region” – said Gleason.
Michael Hunt added “I was there on the night of Steve’s famous blocked punt. It was a storybook beginning to a second chapter for New Orleans. I believe Steve’s fight with ALS is an inspiration to all.”
