Newly signed Saints WR
Camarillo worked out with Saints QBs
“I spent the whole offseason working out with Drew so I would like to think he put in a good word for me,” Camarillo joked after Monday’s practice. “As long as Brees was in San Diego, we were throwing and catching.”
Camarillo, a 6-2, 200-pound wideout has played in 75 career games with 28 starts in stints with the San Diego Chargers (2005), Miami Dolphins (2007-09) and Minnesota Vikings (2010-11). He has career totals of 142 receptions for 1,686 yards (11.9 avg.) with five touchdowns.
Camarillo said he hopes to get back to playing at the level he did from 2008-09 when he posted back-to-back 50-plus reception and 500-plus yard seasons.
“(New Orleans) is an ideal place for a wide receiver to be,” said Camarillo. “I just have to pick up the offense and try to fit in.”
