NewOrleansSaints.com is giving fans an opportunity to submit their questions for their favorite players. Throughout training camp, the Saints will announce a selected player via the team’s Twitter account (@Saints) and fans will be able to reply with questions.
On Thursday, fans were able to submit questions for WR
Moore joined the Saints in 2005 after spending some time with the Cleveland Browns after being undrafted from the University of Toledo. Moore has played a prominent role in the Saints wideout rotation for multiple years since spending the majority of his first two seasons on the practice squad. With the Saints, Moore has recorded 244 receptions for 2,783 yards and 30 touchdown catches which ranks fifth in club record books. Moore has also served as a punt and kick returner during his tenure. In 2011, Moore appeared in 14 games and was able to catch 52 passes for 627 yards (12.1 avg.) with eight touchdowns.
Below are Moore’s responses to some questions submitted by fans:
What is it like to be a part of an offense with No. 9,
“It’s awesome. I say it time and again but it never gets old. Playing with Drew Brees really makes it easy for guys to just go out there and play ball. You don’t have to do anything extra. You don’t have to do any extra thinking or try to be Superman out there. You can count on him and rely on him to get you in the right play at the right time and put the ball in the right place. He is not going to set you up. He is a guy that you can really talk to. He is personable and if you have any questions or concerns about a certain look or a certain play, you can go to him and share that with him and he will talk to you just like you are on the same level.”
What are your expectations for this season?
“To try to play to the best of my ability. Additionally, to remain healthy so I can stay on the field to help the team win games.”
Is this team the best you have been on since you joined the Saints?
“It is hard to tell right now. Today is the first day of training camp. I think, potentially, with the group of guys that we have here we could be the best group. That is what we are working towards.”
Have you come up with any special touchdown dances for this season?
“Truth be told, I really don’t do too much this far ahead. I like to see what is hot at that time and jump on YouTube and find some dance clips and see if I can bring that in to my game.”
What is your favorite thing about being a part of this organization?
“The fans. Playing in this community and playing with this group of guys. It is the perfect fit. We lean on the fans and the fans lean on us and it just seems to work well. Together, that is why I love to play here so much.”
Which game are you most looking forward to playing this season?
“The next game. Whatever our next game is, that is the one I am looking most forward too. It would be a shame to have 21 games this year and look past six or seven to a certain one. Each game is another opportunity and another chance to have fun out there.”
