Five things to know about new Saints running back Alvin Kamara

  1. In high school, Kamara was ranked the No. 1 all-purpose back in 247Composite, the No. 5 player in Georgia and the No. 42 player nationally.
  2. Kamara was a redshirt freshman at the University of Alabama before transferring to Hutchinson Community College where he played in 2014 before transferring to the University of Tennessee in 2015.
  3. At Tennessee, Kamara finished his senior year with a team-high 1,188 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns.
  4. In 2016, Kamara was named to the Paul Hornung Honor Roll and the Athlon Sports Preseason Second Team All-SEC.
  5. When Kamara transferred to Tennessee, he was named Lindy's Sports SEC Newcomer of the Year.
