25 Reasons to Get Excited about 2013 Saints Training Camp Presented by Verizon: No. 8 Cameron Jordan

Posted Jul 18, 2013

NewOrleansSaints.com will showcase one reason a day to get excited about the start of the 2013 New Orleans Saints Training Camp presented by Verizon. Reason No. 8 – Cameron Jordan

Cameron Jordan said earlier this offseason that he would be willing to play any position, which should make him a nice fit for first-year Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan’s new 3-4 scheme. Jordan, who was drafted by the Saints in the first round in 2011, received experience at multiple positions in a 3-4 defense at California. Ryan has stressed the importance of multiplicity, and Jordan looks to be a key factor in his new coach’s plan.

An explosive and physical play-maker, Jordan hopes to build off a strong 2012 campaign where he started all 16 games and finished the season with 76 tackles (52 solo) to lead the defensive line in stops.

Jordan notched a club-best eight sacks, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also led the team in forced fumbles and tied for the team lead in fumble recoveries.

Cameron Jordan (May 8, 2013):

“I tried to tell (media) when I came here that I was willing to play any position and (media) have now seen in the past few years that I have played every spot on the line. I’m not afraid of doing it, I actually love what I do and that’s all I can really say about that. Any position on the defensive line I’m willing to play.”
