The New Orleans Saints drafted safety Marcus Williams in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Utah. Looking to make an impact early in his career, the 6-foot-1 defensive back joins a secondary that needed to add depth and play-makers.

The two-time All-Pac 12 safety figures to do just that. Williams recorded 11 interceptions and 19 passes defended in 37 games with Utah. In an interview with the New Orleans media, Williams spoke about his play-making abilities.

"I feel like I do a lot of things well. I feel like I take away the ball. I am able to get sideline to sideline," Williams said. "I am that guy that wants to take that ball away regardless where I am at and I can make tackles."

Williams appears to be in line to replace departed safety Jairus Byrd and look for the Saints to use Vonn Bell and Kenny Vaccaro, along with Williams, in three safety sets on defense.

"I love going to get the ball," Williams said. "Whenever it is in the air, I feel like it's mine."
