Tampa Travel Guide

Getting to Tampa

There is one international airport, Tampa International Airport, located six miles west of downtown, and only 4.5 miles from Raymond James Stadium. There are eight rental car services - Alamo, Avis, Budge, Collar Car Rental, Enterprise, Hertz, National Car Rental and Thrifty Car Rental. You can also hail a cab from Tampa International to downtown or Cruise Port for a flat rate of $25. To take public transportation to downtown hop on HART buses for Hillsborough, located at the East end of Red Baggage Claim Curbside by Belt 15. The route map and schedule is located at the bus stop. If you prefer driving, New Orleans to Tampa will take you approximately 10 hours. The easiest route is I-10 E to I-75 S to I-275 S. For those of you who don’t want to drive but want to enjoy the scenic ride, opt for a train. Amtrak has trains leaving daily from New Orleans and arriving in Tampa, be sure to check times, as there are multiple departures. For tickets and more information visit here.

Parking at Raymond James Stadium

There are a few options for parking at Raymond James Stadium. Pre-paid parking is guaranteed and you can reserve your spot here. For cash parking, you can park in lots 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, A, C, 3, 6D and Hillsborough Community College for $25 per space, except 13 which is $15 per space. All lots open 3.5 hours prior to kickoff.

RV Parking

RVs may park in lots 13 and 14 for $25 per space. Parking is first-come, first-serve and no overnight parking is allowed.

    Big Cat Rescue This animal sanctuary is devoted to rescuing wild cats, as well as sheltering animals unfit to return to the wild.     International Plaza and Bay Street For those of you wanting to shop, this upscale shopping mall is the place to be. Anchored by department stores Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Neiman Marcus and Ballard Designs, the mall also includes Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton and many more.     Mom’s Place This old-fashioned diner is extremely close to Raymond James Stadium, only a block north. Arguably the best breakfast in Tampa, expect an American, Greek style breakfast, and make sure to order their grits! Be prepared, this is a cash only restaurant, but there is an ATM out front.   • Transportation

    Public TransportationHillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) is Tampa’s public transportation system. A one-day pass can be purchased for $4 and a three-day unlimited pass can be purchased for $11.75. Be sure to check the website for all fares and discounts.
