Charlotte Travel Guide

Getting to Charlotte

There is one international airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, located seven miles from the Bank of America Stadium. There are eight rental car agencies - Advantage, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National/Alamo and Thrift. You can also hail a cab from Charlotte International to uptown for about $25. For public transportation, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) picks up in front of Zone D Baggage Claim. If you prefer driving, New Orleans to Charlotte will take you approximately 11.5 hours. The easiest route is Interstate 10 E to I-85 N to I-75 N to I-277 S. For those who don’t want to drive but want to enjoy the scenic ride, opt for a train. AMTRAK has trains leaving daily from New Orleans at 7 a.m. and arriving in Charlotte at 1:21 a.m. the following morning. For tickets and more information visit here.

Getting to Bank of America Stadium

If you don’t want to drive and park your best option is the LYNX light rail station, just blocks away along Stonewall Street. There are a number of stations to the south of the stadium that offer free parking. Each station has a ticket kiosk that allows fans to purchase a single-day or round-trip pass, and trains run uptown every 10-15 minutes.

Parking at Bank of America Stadium

There are a few options for parking at the Bank of America Stadium. Pre-paid parking is guaranteed and you can reserve your spot here - www.parkwhiz.com/bank-of-america-stadium-parking. For cash parking, there are more than 30,000 parking spaces within a 10-15 minute walk of the stadium. Parking operators lease parking spaces on a game-by-game basis.

    Hearst Tower This 46-story tower is Charlotte’s fourth tallest building. Its public plaza is lined with restaurants, shops, and the Mint Museum of Craft and Design.
