Doug Miller is entering his 20th season in the NFL and his fourth year with the Saints. This is his third season as senior director of new media after serving as senior director of media and public relations in 2006. Included in his daily responsibilities is the direction and operation of the club’s website, NewOrleansSaints.com.
Prior to joining the Saints, Miller had served as the New York Jets' director of public and media relations from 2002-2006. Prior to holding that position, he had served in various roles for the Jets, including as the club’s director of publications, assistant director of public relations, and community relations manager.
Miller joined the Jets in 1991 as a public relations intern and was hired as a full-time employee in 1992. Miller has also worked for the NFL as a media relations specialist for seven AFC Championship games and was selected by the NFL to work the past eight Super Bowls as a public and media relations liaison.
Miller graduated from the State University of New York following undergraduate stays at Davis & Elkins College, where he was a member of both the varsity soccer team and golf teams as a freshman and sophomore, before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh.
At the University of Pittsburgh, Miller worked in the school’s sports information department and wrote for The Pitt News.
Doug and his wife, Carolyn, are the parents of a son, Tyler, 6, and a daughter, Lauren, 4.
