2009 -Played in 14 games with eight starts, gaining 390 yards on 70 carries with five rushing touchdowns along with 47 receptions for 335 yards with three touchdowns and averaged 4.8 yards on 27 punt returns. vs. Detroit (9/13): Started at RB and tied for the team-lead with five receptions, going for 55 yards and ran for 14 yards on seven carries. Also gained 11 yards on three punt returns. at Philadelphia (9/20): Carried the ball 10 times for 33 yards, including a powerful 19-yard touchdown run that sealed the victory in the fourth quarter and also caught three passes for 42 yards from his starting RB position. at Buffalo (9/27): Carried 13 times for 64 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards. vs. NY Jets (10/4): Carried the ball six times for 37 yards, caught three passes for seven yards and had a 22-yard punt return in the win. vs. NY Giants (10/18): Had six carries for 17 yards with a seven-yard touchdown run and caught one pass for seven yards in the victory. at Miami (10/25): Caught three passes for 16 yards and rushed three times for 10 yards but provided one of the game’s biggest highlights when he scored on a 10-yard run off of a double-reverse, leaping into the end zone from about five yards away over a defender in the win. vs. Atlanta (11/2): Caught two passes for 11 yards and carried twice for three yards, including a one-yard dash around the left end into the end zone to score for the third consecutive game. vs. Carolina (11/8): Started at running back and had a team-high seven receptions for 37 yards with two carries for 16 rushing yards. at St. Louis (11/15): Posted his first multi-touchdown game of the season, running for a three-yard score and later taking a pass on a crossing route and outrunning the defense for a 15-yard touchdown. Totaled six carries for 83 yards, including a career-long 55-yard dash, and caught two passes for 15 yards. at Tampa Bay (11/22): Inactive with an injured knee. vs. New England (11/30): Inactive with an injured knee. at Washington (12/6): Returned to action and caught four passes for 28 yards. Also had one carry for no gain and lost two yards on a punt return. at Atlanta (12/13): Started the game split wide as a receiver and caught a pair of touchdown passes (of six and 21 yards), tying for the team-lead with six receptions for 46 yards and carried the ball six times for 33 yards. Also had one punt return, which he ran back 23 yards. vs. Dallas (12/19): Started at running back and carried once for 29 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards before hobbling off with a leg injury. vs. Tampa Bay (12/27): Caught six passes for 37 yards and gained 16 yards on two carries to go along with a 14-yard punt return. at Carolina (1/3): Saw limited duty and ran for 35 yards on five carries and was held without a reception for the first time in his four-year career. Also averaged 5.5 yards on two punt returns. vs. Arizona (1/16 – Divisional Playoff): Had one of the best games of his career, carrying the ball five times for 84 yards as he set a franchise postseason record with a 46-yard touchdown run, caught four passes for 24 yards and gained 109 yards on three punt returns, including the third-longest punt return in NFL postseason history on an 83-yard runback in the third quarter. vs. Minnesota (1/24 – NFC Championship Game): Started at running back and was held to eight yards on seven carries but added two catches for 33 yards with a five-yard touchdown reception. vs. Indianapolis (2/7 – Super Bowl XLIV): Carried the ball five times for 25 yards from his starting RB spot and added four receptions for 38 yards with a four-yard return on his lone punt return.

– Played in 10 games, with nine starts, before being placed on injured reserve with an injured knee, 12/17…Also on the inactive list for a four-game stretch with a knee injury from 10/26-11/24…Rushed for 404 yards and two TDs on 106 carries, hauled in 52 passes for 440 yards with four touchdowns and recorded 20 punt returns for 270 yards with three TDs…Accounted for 42 first downs, including 22 receiving…In opener vs. Tampa Bay, Sept. 7, scored the game-winning touchdown with a 42-yard burst of a swing pass in the fourth quarter. Finished with 112 yards on eight catches and 51 yards on 14 carries…At Washington, Sept. 14, shook loose for a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown and added 63 yards on seven grabs…At Denver, Sept. 21, posted 73 yards on 18 carries, added a season-high 11 catches for 75 yards and had two punt returns for 30 yards. Scored on a 23-yard run and six-yard reception in the sixth multi-TD game of his career…Tied an NFL record vs. Minnesota in Monday Night Football contest, Oct. 6, with a pair of punt returns for touchdowns. An 11-yard reception in the third quarter was the 100th of his career in his 19th game, making him the second-fastest to 100 behind Arizona WR Anquan Boldin…In first start as team's featured back following season-ending injury to Deuce McAllister the week before, set career-high for attempts with 21 for 67 yards and added nine catches for 52 yards vs. Carolina, Oct. 7…At Seattle, Oct. 14, Rushed for season-high 97 yards on 19 carries (5.1 avg.) - including a 22-yard burst - and caught six passes for 44 yards in Saints’ first victory…Oct. 21 vs. Atlanta had 54 yards on 17 carries and added 19 yards on five catches. Also tied a club record for rushing TDs in a game and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week…At Dallas, Dec. 10, started at RB and had six catches for 125 yards, including a weaving 61-yard touchdown…Had five grabs for 19 yards vs. Washington, Dec. 17, giving him 84 on year to break the NFL receptions record for a rookie running back in a season (San Francisco FB Earl Cooper, 83, 1980)…At NY Giants, Dec. 24, notched 126 yards on 20 attempts, including one-yard TD. Recorded 80 yards rushing in second quarter as Saints took the lead for good. Also had a pair of receptions for 23 yards. Bush and RB Deuce McAllister (108) combined to be the third Saints duo to go over 100 yards in the same game….Started and played briefly vs. Carolina, Dec. 31, posting 20 yards on three carries - capping the opening drive with a one-yard TD. Added a pair of catches for 13 yards. Named NFL Rookie of the Month for December, a stretch where he had 24 catches for 311 yards and 46 carries for 234 yards and scored seven touchdowns.

COLLEGE – The 2005 Heisman Trophy winner played in 39 games at Southern California with only 15 starts, but finished 10th in NCAA Division I-A history with 6,551 all-purpose yards, a school career record. That mark was also third in Pac-10 history…Set school and conference season-record with 2,890 all-purpose yards in 2005, the third-best season total in Division I-A history…Gained 2,330 all-purpose yards in 2004, becoming 12th player in NCAA history to gain over 2,000 all-purpose yards twice…Finished career with 3,169 yards (seventh in school history) and 25 TDs on 433 carries (7.3 avg.) and 1,301 yards with 13 TDs on 95 catches (13.7 avg.) Also posted 559 yards and three TDs on 44 punt returns (12.7 avg.)…In 2005, was named the Associated Press Player of the Year, and added Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, as well as the Doak Walker Award…Earned first-team All-American honors from the Associated Press, Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association, Walter Camp, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated…Just the fifth player to ever be named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year twice (second consecutive and the first non-QB to achieve the feat in 20 seasons)…Fifth in 2004 Heisman Trophy vote and a near-unanimous All-America selection...Set a school record for freshmen with 1,330 all-purpose yards.

PERSONAL – Became heavily involved in the community immediately after being selected by New Orleans in the NFL Draft. Donated $86,000 to resurface the field at Tad Gormley Stadium so high school football could be played again at the stadium. He also donated 12 vehicles to New Orleans, state and government agencies, became a regional spokesman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and his corporate sponsorships all include charitable components for programs in the New Orleans region…Political Science major at USC…Attended Helix (La Mesa, Calif.) HS where he was a 2002 Parade Magazine All-American and USA Today All-USA selection... During his prep career, rushed for 4,995 yards (12.0 avg.) and scored 450 points…Ran for 1,691 yards on 140 carries (12.1 avg.) with 27 TDs in 2002, despite missing four games with a broken wrist…Placed third in the 2002 California 100-meters final…High school teammate of San Francisco QB Alex Smith, the first pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.
