NFL CAREER – Karney no longer toils in the shadows, as the hard-charging veteran has emerged as one of the NFL’s top fullbacks over the last two seasons. His lead blocking helped pave the way for the Saints to rush for over 1,700 yards in 2006 and finish as the NFL’s No. 1 ranked offense. For his efforts, he was a second-team selection to the Associated Press All-Pro squad last season. Karney also showed his versatility, hauling in a career-high 15 passes for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns and proving to be a viable option in short-yardage situations, including rushing for his first TD. In his career, Karney has opened 29 of 47 contests and has also been a valuable special teams performer.
