NFL CAREER – Clancy proved to be a solid addition for the Saints in 2007, providing strength in the middle against the run with his ability to take on two blockers and plug up rushing lanes. He also brought a constant interior push in passing situations. Entering his ninth season, Clancy has appeared in 95 games in his career, with 32 starts. He played in 14 games last season for New Orleans, starting two, and was a key part of the defensive line rotation. Originally a third-round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers (72nd overall) in 2000, Clancy has had stints with Pittsburgh, the New York Giants and the Arizona Cardinals. He has recorded 126 career tackles (95 solo), 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.
