NFL CAREER – Roby arrived in New Orleans with little fanfare after being signed in midseason as a free agent, but the speedy returner made an immediate impact on the special teams before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. Roby averaged 24.8 yards on 19 kickoff returns in the five games he appeared in with New Orleans, including bursts of 62, 54 and 41 yards. Originally a third-round draft choice of the Tennessee Titans in 2005, Roby has also had stints with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Saints.

2008 – After opening the season with the Indianapolis Colts, Roby was signed by the Saints, Oct. 16 and appeared in five games…Returned 19 kickoffs for 472 yards (24.8 avg.) and had three special teams tackles before being placed on Injured Reserve with an ankle injury, Dec. 8…Including one appearance with Indianapolis Colts the opener, had 24 kick returns for 573 yards and five special teams stops…In Saints debut, Nov. 9 vs. Atlanta, had five kick returns for 127 yards, including a 41-yard burst…Added a 54-yard return at Kansas City, Nov. 16 and a career-best 62-yarder vs. Green Bay, Nov. 24, along with a pair of special teams stops. Injured vs. Atlanta and placed on injured reserve the next day. 2007 – Active for one game with Cincinnati, vs. New York Jets, Oct. 21, but did not play. 2006 – Appeared in 12 games as a reserve for Tennessee and had two catches for 28 yards. 2005 – Started six of 13 games as a rookie for Titans and had 21 receptions for 289 yards with a touchdown…Also returned 22 kickoffs for 495 yards (22.5 avg.)…Started his first career game vs. Oakland, Oct. 30 and had seven receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown.

COLLEGE – Closed career at Indiana as the school’s all-time leader with 170 catches and 2,524 receiving yards… As a senior in 2004, started all 11 games and led the Hoosiers with 55 receptions for 810 yards and seven touchdowns, and added 135 yards rushing and a pair of TD…Most productive season came as a sophomore, with 59 grabs for 1,039 yards (18.5 avg.) and four touchdowns, the second-most grabs and receiving yards by a Hoosier in a single season…Majored in business administration.

PERSONAL – Born Jan. 10, 1983 in Indianapolis, Ind.…Attended North Central (Indianapolis) HS, where he earned all-state honors…Also was an all-state choice in track…Cousin of the late Reggie Roby who played a total of 16 years (1983-98) as a punter in the NFL.
