Key Play

Following a scoreless first quarter, Olindo Mare got the Saints on the board with a 28-yard field goal two minutes into the second period.

Mare doubled the Saints' lead with a 31-yard field goal to make the score 6-0.

Drew Brees threw his first TD pass of the preseason, connecting with David Patten on a 4-yard pass to push the lead to 13-0.

Mare booted his third field goal of the night, connecting on a 44-yard kick early in the fourth quarter.

Pierre Thomas capped a Saints drive with a 6-yard TD run to push the score to 23-0.

Thomas scored again, running the ball into the end zone from 19 yards out.

Kansas City RB Marcus O'Keith got the Chiefs on the board with a 2-yard run with less than two minutes to play.
