ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE FOR SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK
Three-Week Campaign Begins With Family Fall Festival Celebration at River Ridge Winn-Dixie at 8601 Jefferson Highway
WHAT: The New Orleans Saints and Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana officially launch the annual food drive with the donation of a semi-trailer full of food from Winn-Dixie, followed by a family fall festival.
WHERE: Winn-Dixie store at 8601 Jefferson Highway in River Ridge
WHEN: Tuesday, September 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — brief news conference at 5 p.m., followed by family fall festival
WHO: - Rita Benson LeBlanc, Owner and Executive Vice President of the Saints - Natalie Jayroe, Second Harvest Food Bank, President and CEO - Joey Medina, Winn-Dixie, Regional Vice President - Members of the Saints and Saintsations
ADDITIONAL INFO: - Food drive will last approximately three weeks, from Sept. 23 through Oct. 12 - Canned goods can be donated at the kick-off event and also in special barrels at all 31 New Orleans-area Winn-Dixie stores - Major food collection also will be held at the Superdome October 12 before the game against the Oakland Raiders - Attendees to the family fall festival who donate canned goods will have a chance to win a Saints jersey autographed by Reggie Bush - Family fall festival will include face painters, balloon artists, magician and the Saints Experience for the kids.
