Craig Lingle from Bonnabel High School in Kenner, LA was selected as the NFL Coach of the Week for week two.
Bonnabel beat the St. Augustine Purple Knights 35-22 at Joe Yenni Stadium on September 13. Coach Lingle has been an assistant coach at his alma mater for 21 years before finally being named the head coach for this season. His head coaching debut was postponed due to Hurricane Gustav the week before against rival East Jefferson.
Coach Lingle brings a new coaching philosophy to the Bruins which stresses the importance of family and fun. He also believes he is not only developing football players, though developing young men through his FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) program as well as placing an importance on community service.
The New Orleans Saints and the National Football League would like to congratulate Coach Craig Lingle on his victory. The Saints and the NFL will be donating $1,000.00 to the athletic department of Bonnabel High School on behalf of Coach Lingle’s football program.
