The New Orleans Saints have signed seven players to their practice squad, it was announced by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

The players signed were G Tim Duckworth, LB Robert Meachem/Jo-Lonn Dunbar.aspx">Jo-Lonn Dunbar, WR Lynell Hamilton/Skyler Green.aspx">Skyler Green, RB Lynell Hamilton, TE Buck Ortega and DE Jeff Charleston/Josh Savage.aspx">Josh Savage.

Duckworth spent the entire 2007 season on the New Orleans practice squad after originally joining the team that August. The 25-year-old guard saw action on offense and on special teams during the team’s 2008 preseason.

Dunbar was signed by the Saints as a rookie free agent after the 2008 NFL Draft. The Boston College product finished third on the team in the preseason with 16 tackles (ten solo) and tied for second with four special teams stops (three solo).

Green, who prepped at Higgins High School in Marrero and also played at LSU, is a two-year NFL veteran who came to the Saints in the offseason after spending 2007 on the active roster and practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals. Originally chosen by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in 2006, he had two receptions for 36 yards, returned six punts for 42 yards (7.0 avg.) and brought back four kickoffs for 80 yards (20.0 avg.) in the preseason.

Hamilton was signed by the Saints as a rookie free agent after playing at San Diego State. In the preseason, he was the Saints’ second leading rusher with 24 carries for 76 yards and made three receptions for 29 yards.

Ortega spent the final five weeks of the 2007 season on the Saints practice squad and previously had stints with Miami, Cleveland and Washington. In the preseason, Ortega had one reception for 17 yards and excelled on the special teams coverage units with a team-leading five stops.

Savage spent most of the 2007 season on the Saints practice squad before appearing in one game for the Saints in week 16. A two-year NFL veteran, Savage has appeared in 13 games with four different teams, recording six tackles. In the 2008 preseason, Savage recorded three tackles (two solo).
